Sound Ground, Controlled Infrastructure, Sustainable Sites

For excavation, fill, site grading, drainage, stormwater networks and service roads, we manage levels, compaction and construction sequence together.

Excavation and fill Drainage networks Site roads Levels and setting-out

Our Approach

The performance of visible infrastructure begins with the ground beneath it.

Pavement built without considering site levels, ground behaviour, water management and heavy-vehicle movement can require premature maintenance.

For that reason, setting-out, layer-controlled fill, compaction checks, pipe bedding and surface falls are managed within the same field control plan.

Service Scope

Clear work packages that can be applied in the field.

The final scope is confirmed against the project documents and site review, then aligned with the work programme.

01

Excavation, Fill and Grading

Excavation to design levels, controlled layer placement using suitable fill and site grading.

  • Topographic setting-out
  • Layer and moisture control
  • Tracking compaction tests
02

Drainage and Stormwater

Installation of pipe falls, bedding, manholes and discharge points to suit the field conditions.

  • Pipe level and gradient checks
  • Manhole and gully positioning
  • Backfill and protection layers
03

Site Roads and Platforms

Sub-base and surface preparation for service roads, working platforms and vehicle turning areas.

  • Identification of ground-improvement needs
  • Sub-base and base placement
  • Crossfall and longitudinal-gradient control

Technical Management

Survey, ground and drainage decisions brought together in one execution plan.

Infrastructure includes details that become difficult to access after backfilling. Levels, gradients and connections are therefore checked before the work is concealed.

  1. 01

    Setting-out

Primary axes, pipe routes, manhole centres and design levels are transferred to the field.

  2. 02

    Ground preparation

Unsuitable layers are removed and fill material is placed in controlled thicknesses.

  3. 03

    Pipes and structures

Bedding, pipe gradients, connections and protective backfill are completed in sequence.

  4. 04

    Surface control

Drainage direction, edge finishing and tie-in levels are verified on platforms and road surfaces.

Control Points

Work is controlled throughout execution—not only before handover.

  • Topographic survey and level records
  • Fill layer thickness and compaction control
  • Pipe gradient, manhole and gully-level checks
  • Photographic records before backfilling
  • Site-safety plan suitable for vehicle and pedestrian traffic
